Welcome back!
English Language Arts:
We have begun reading "A Wrinkle in Time" and have read through Chapter 2 this week. Students are assigned pages each day and should make sure to have those pages read at home to be prepared for discussion each day.
Please ensure that your student has access to a copy. The version we will be referencing for page numbers and using in class has ISBN number 9780312367541.
**This is a "Classics to Keep" book. Each student should have their own copy to read from and annotate in.
In Poetry, we are discussing and memorizing "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll.
Math:
Hello Spartan Family!
Next week we will wrap up our volume unit. We will move on to finding the area and perimeter of various shapes and irregular figures.
Sincerely,
Mr. Dorazio
History:
This week we began our United States Geography unit by describing where the U.S. is in relation to other locations on a map. Next week, we will get more specific as we learn about U.S. regions and individual states.
Science:
This week, we were introduced to the geosphere. We'll continue observing various rock types and the effects of erosion on land materials next week.
Writing:
This week we focused on identifying and writing topic sentences. Next week we will continue building paragraphs by adding body sentences and conclusions.
