  Welcome back!

English Language Arts:

We finished reading "A Wrinkle in Time" this week. Next week, we will read "The San Jacinto Corn" short story before moving on to our next classic.

Our next classic is "Across Five Aprils". Please ensure that your student has access to a copy. The version we will be referencing for page numbers and using in class has ISBN number 9780425182789.

**This is a "Classics to Keep" book. Each student should have their own copy to read from and annotate in.

In Poetry, we are discussing and memorizing "The Builders" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Math:

Hello Spartan Family!

As we continue to review the key concepts we've covered throughout the year, we have also begun using basic algebra and familiarizing ourselves with graphs and graphing.

Mr. Dorazio

History:

We are a couple weeks into our Civil War unit, which will carry us through a majority of the remainder of the quarter. We will discuss key battles, generals, and other factors that lead to the outcome of the war.

Science:

As we wrap up learning about the biosphere, we will learn about resources Earth provides us: natural, renewable, and non-renewable.

Writing:

Students should now be familiar with all the steps of writing a paragraph. We will continue to practice writing paragraphs and short essays about varying subjects.
